Marshmallow eggs keep ‘most popular‘ title – supermarket

The supermarket chain, Countdown, says it has sold 400 tonnes of easter eggs, 80 tonnes of chocolate bunnies, and 13 million hot cross buns this Easter.

It said marshmallow eggs were still the most popular easter treat, with creme eggs second.

The supermarket said if the 13m hot cross buns they sold were laid in a line, they would stretch 780km – the distance between Wellington and Christchurch including Cook Strait.
